Catholic Charities Immigration and Refugee Services' mission is to assist the church in its role of "welcoming the stranger" by providing various services targeted to the specific needs of the Central Florida immigrant community.
Our staff and volunteers seek to provide quality resettlement services to newly arrived refugees, ensure families have access to affordable immigration related services, and promote justice, compassion and acceptance for all newcomers.
For over 35 years, Catholic Charities has assisted over 14,000 refugees resettle and begin a new life in Central Florida. Refugees from all over the world seeking a safe haven in the United States are welcomed into the community and assisted with a place to live and a job to live by.
Services are provided to transition families into a new culture with an emphasis on early self-sufficiency. Among the services offered are arranging for housing and basic necessities, cultural and community orientation, referral to area English classes, transportation and interpretation to health care providers, youth services, employment counseling and job placement.
