Seeking a Safe Haven
For the past 35 years, Catholic Charities has assisted over 14,000 refugees resettle and begin a new life in Central Florida. Refugees from all over the world seeking a safe haven in the United States are welcomed into the community and assisted with a place to live and a job to live by.
Services are provided in a manner to transition the families into a new culture with an emphasis on early self-sufficiency. Among the services offered are arranging for housing and basic necessities upon arrival, cultural orientation, orientation to the community, referral to area English classes, transportation and interpretation to health care providers, youth services, employment counseling and job placement.
