Family and Children ServicesCCCF Women, Children and Families initiative provides single and abused women and their children a safe place for new beginnings.Emergency Family Assistance(Orlando, Daytona, Cocoa, Lakeland) CCCF Pregnancy and Adoption Program(Orlando, Cocoa, and Lakeland) The Orlando office worked with eight Birth Mothers. Two adoptive placements were made with Catholic Charities outside of the Diocese of Orlando and successful searches (adoptees looking for their Birth Parents) were made from the Orlando and Lakeland offices. The Lakeland office has seen the most change with 20 women receiving pregnancy counseling and three adoptive placements were made. Abstinence EducationCCCF’s Abstinence Education Program is making a difference in the lives of more than 2,000 youth between the ages of 12 -18 throughout Central Florida by improving student skills to say 'no' and develop decision making and critical thinking skills. The definition of abstinence as it pertains to this program is "voluntarily refraining from at-risk behaviors including discrimination, racism, violence, tobacco, alcohol, drugs and sex before marriage." Abstinence education recognizes that young people can—and will—make intelligent decisions if properly informed. CounselingCounseling services offer women guidance as they explore their situation and learn that they have the power to make necessary changes for their life and that of their children.
