CCCF assists our community by serving those in need. We respond to a variety of challenges within the community, focusing on families, while respecting their dignity and empowering their capacity for self-help.

Change.

Much has changed in the community, different needs are emerging, more complex and across many functional areas, and this change calls for a different approach to care. The Southern Region must re-focus our services to provide a multifunctional compendium of care for our clients.

  • Women & Children Safe House which focus on the needs of women, children and families, and transitional and permanent housing solutions, we can provide solutions to complex situations that require integrated, cross functional support.
  • Pregnancy, Adoption, Counseling. Maintain the quality reputation already established with these services. And increase the number of adoption placements.
  • Multi-Purpose Service Centers. To provide an integrated continuum of quality social services, housing, residential care and healthcare services for the senior adult and single parents in a transitional status.

The Dream.

Build and endow a stand alone 5 acre Community of Excellence Catholic Charities Campus (a $2.5m campus with a $1.5m/yr operating cost), with 10,000sf of program services facilities that support our core and emerging mission areas: To provide an integrated continuum of quality social services, housing, residential care and healthcare services for the senior adult and single parents in a transitional status. Our goal is to provide a stand-alone multi-functional center that covers all mission areas.

2008 Holiday Gift Giving Campaign

Community Based Care of Brevard – Catholic Charities of Central Florida
and the Brevard Interfaith Coalition

Encourage your members, volunteers and other interested people to support a child in foster care through the 2008 Holiday Gift Giving Campaign.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • There are over 900 children in the foster care system in Brevard County.
  • Children enter foster care for many reasons: having parents with physical disabilities or struggling financially; parents with substance abuse or being the recipient of abuse and neglect.
  • The minute a child is placed in foster care, their life changes.  They are with people they don’t know, in unfamiliar surroundings and are unsure what their day-to-day life or future will hold.
  • Sponsoring a child through donated holiday gifts helps restore a sense of normalcy in their world.  They will enjoy participating in the spirit of the holiday season, regardless of their faith or circumstance and know someone cares about them.

How the program works:

  • Children have been identified by gender and age and have made a wish list of the top 3 gifts they would like to receive.  One or all of the gifts listed can be purchased.
  • The participating organization will collect the gifts and deliver them to Mercedes Homes’ facility at 6905 N. Wickham Rd. on December 9 between 9:30 and 11 a.m.   Community Based Care of Brevard staff will be on hand to collect the gifts and will deliver the toys to the children.

There are approximately 500 children who have yet to be sponsored and we hope your organization will be able to help some of the children experience the spirit of the Holiday Season this year.
