Catholic Charities Announces New Lenten Program to Serve those in Need
As Catholics we are called to prayer, fasting and almsgiving during the season of Lent. With that in mind, Catholic Charities of Central Florida (CCCF) has developed a new Lenten program, “40 Ways in 40 Days.” The program provides suggestions to help those facing difficult times; to help the people Catholic Charities serves each and every day.
Through 40 Ways in 40 Days, parishioners, school children, families and the community are given examples of how to serve through our ministry. And as the season quickly approaches, we ask that you participate and help spread the word about this newly created Lenten journey.
A calendar has been created and for each day of the Lenten Season, a suggestion is provided. For example, on February 22, Ash Wednesday, participants are asked to include Catholic Charities of Central Florida and the people we serve in prayer. On March 21, you are asked to tutor a child from the Youth Services Immigration Resettlement program. On March 28; the suggestion is to organize a food drive at a school and/or parish.
You will find a full listing of “40 Ways in 40 Days” in the downloadable links located below, including a quick snapshot reference for your convenience. If you have any questions, please contact our Community Relations Manager, Elizabeth Arenas, at earenas@orlandodiocese.org.
