Maura and Jerome's Story

"Catholic Charities Adoption has been a blessing to our family. After struggling for several years with infertility we decided that having a child through adoption would be the best option for our family. We began the process and researched different agencies. When we found out that Catholic Charities had an adoption unit we were elated. Upon further research we found out that Catholic Charities offered an extensive program for both birth and adoptive families. For as long as we can remember we have dreamt of becoming parents. After just a year and a half (which felt more like a lifetime) we were selected by a wonderful birth mother. Our dream of Having a child finally came true with the birth of our daughter Chloe Rose. Words cannot express the amount of gratitude and love that we have for the birth mother for fulfilling the missing puzzle piece of our family. We thank Catholic Charities for bringing our lives together to complete the triad of love that is adoption. The miracle of adoption has changed our lives in ways we never thought possible and we can only hope and pray that many more couples will embark on the same amazing adventure with Catholic Charities and share in our same happiness. Parenthood is the most miraculous experience we have ever been through and we look forward to a lifetime of many happy memories as a family."

The classes made you aware of how both sides of the adoption process are important in understanding the needs of both the birth parents and you, the adoptive parents. While it seemed endless at the time, and with many steps involved, the reward of seeing your child for the first time is a feeling like none other."
